In 1978 Oliver Murphy joined RTE Television where he trained as a Sound Engineer. His career in sound spanned 4 Eurovison Song Contests and innumerable Late Late Shows. In 2003 he was appointed to the role of Production Designer/Art Director in Television, and worked in this area for 10 years. He was shortlisted a number of times by the Institute of Designers in Ireland and subsequently won awards for Podge and Rodge's "Stick it Inn" and "Premier Soccer Saturday".
His passionate interest in photography started at the young age of twelve, following on in his father's footsteps. Over the years he has exhibited paintings with the Royal Hibernian Academy of Art in 8 of their Annual Summer Shows, mostly portraits. He is also a co-author of Guidelines in Art, published by Folens and later by Century
